Which Jyotirlingas can be visited from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar?
Three Jyotirlingas are reachable from Sambhajinagar in a 2-day circuit: Grishneshwar (30 km, Ellora), Parli Vaijnath (210 km, Beed district), and Aundha Nagnath (270 km, Hingoli district). Trimbakeshwar (Nashik, 250 km) and Bhimashankar (Pune, 310 km) can be added for a 4–5 day full Maharashtra Jyotirlinga tour.
Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga — The Closest from Sambhajinagar
At just 30 km (45 minutes) from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Grishneshwar is the 12th and final Jyotirlinga listed in the Shiv Purana. The temple is located within the Ellora Caves complex, making it a natural combination with an Ellora heritage visit. Jaingiri Travels recommends an early start (6 AM departure) to beat the crowds and be first in line for darshan.
Parli Vaijnath — The 9th Jyotirlinga
Located in Parli, Beed district, approximately 210 km from Sambhajinagar (4 hours by road), Parli Vaijnath is one of the most spiritually significant Jyotirlingas in Maharashtra. The temple complex is large and beautifully maintained. The evening Aarti (around 7–8 PM) is especially powerful. Jaingiri Travels recommends overnight stay in Parli to attend both evening and morning pujas.
Aundha Nagnath — The 8th Jyotirlinga
Aundha Nagnath in Hingoli district is approximately 60 km from Parli, making it the natural next stop on a 2-day Jyotirlinga circuit. This is one of the oldest of the 12 Jyotirlingas and is believed to be the site where the Pandavas worshipped Shiva during their exile. The architecture is Hemadpanthi style — similar to Ellora — which makes it visually stunning.

Vehicle Recommendation for Jyotirlinga Circuit
For a group of 10–16 pilgrims, the Maharaja 13-seater Tempo Traveller (₹30/km) is the most popular choice for this circuit. It offers wider pushback seats than a standard Tempo, individual AC vents, and ample luggage space for overnight bags and prasad materials. For premium groups, the Force Urbania (₹31/km) provides a smoother ride on the longer highway stretches to Parli and Aundha.
