About Parli Vaijnath Jyotirlinga
Parli Vaijnath — also known as Vaidyanath (Lord of Physicians) — is the 9th of Lord Shiva's 12 sacred Jyotirlingas. Located in Parli town in Beed district of Maharashtra, the temple is ancient and deeply revered across Maharashtra and beyond. Legend holds that Lord Shiva in this form is the divine physician who heals the afflicted — making the temple particularly sought out by those seeking recovery from illness.
The main temple features a classic Hemadpanthi architecture style, built from black basalt stone. The sanctum houses the Swayambhu Shivalinga — naturally occurring rather than man-made — which makes it even more sacred in Hindu tradition.
